The oil and gas industry needs to keep looking for a new, simpler and more cost-effective way to operate. This need emerged long before oil prices collapsed to $40 per barrel but in a ‘low for longer’ environment, industry simplification has become even more imperative to keep operators’ costs down and create ease of business.
Industry simplification has become even more imperative
Operators, OEMs and partners are looking at new ways to partner with a unified goal – keeping costs under control, mitigating risks and injecting speed and efficiency in the industry for the long-term. From innovative commercial models to closer partnerships and new collaborative frameworks from the early stages of a project lifecycle, there sure is a lot going on in our sector.
Not surprisingly, this has been a hot topic across the sector for some time – with much of the debate focused on the role that standardization of technology, processes, documentation and approaches can play in our mutual quest to simplicity.
I hope you are ready to continue the debate and share your views on where standardization can, will or should happen next.
