Improving operating performance of FPSOs, spars, TLPs and semi-submersibles
SeaSmart is the direct result of regular in-depth focus groups with senior engineering teams from our customers worldwide – covering any conceivable aspect from well fluids to vessel layouts and business objectives. We synthesize their insights with our own system-wide knowledge from decades of experience at the industry’s most demanding offshore sites.
Every generation of SeaSmart is therefore smaller, lighter, more durable and smarter than the last. Between 2009 and 2013, we reduced footprint by 24% and weight by 22% – along with significant performance enhancements for core equipment and peripherals.
The 2014 complete package provides a wide range of improvements, including:
- 30% faster installation
- 5% smaller footprint
- 5 tons lighter
- 0.5% higher availability
- 24 years durability
- 99.5% filtration efficiency at MPPS
- 100% of components now integrated with skid
- Plug & play control cabinet
- All on-board auxiliaries
With our most advanced technologies and capabilities on board, the latest SeaSmart package delivers ultra-high reliability and availability, low maintenance requirements, integrated controls and auxiliaries, and the flexibility to grow.
The complete package is designed for single-lift installation. Everything, including all electronics, controls and other auxiliary skids (such as liquid fuel and water wash skid) now comes pre-assembled and tested to substantially reduce installation and commissioning time. The modularized design also enhances operability and maintenance performance.
Instead of steel, our new filter house is made of advanced composite materials proven in the aerospace and nautical industries. This significantly reduces weight and enables customization of the design for particularly compact areas. This major advance means SeaSmart is now more widely available for offshore vessels where filter house size had been a limiting factor in the past.
A pre-assembled, local control room has been added to the package. This contains all the electronics, controls and HMI necessary to operate the unit. Formerly, these were located in a separate control rooms elsewhere on the vessel. But now, full control is within the SeaSmart footprint, so everything is easier – installation, startup, operation and maintainability.
