Proven portfolio covers all operating pressures and sour gas content
GE has been a global leader in the fabrication of air-cooled heat exchangers and steam condensers since the late 1960s, and we’ve supplied well over 10,000 bundles for industry-wide applications. Our latest solutions cover pressures over 650 bar and sour gas content as high as 18%.
Gas type and pressure are the two key considerations for proper design and material selection. We therefore choose special, heavy-duty materials for sour gas applications – not only for the air cooled heat exchanger, but for the whole plant. Advanced corrosion-resistant alloys require specialized welding techniques, and we have the expertise to ensure high-quality construction with these materials.
Our portfolio includes three tube bundle header configurations: cover plate for easy maintenance in dirty fluids with low operating pressures; plug box for a wide range of process conditions in any size plant; and pipe-and-bend for very high pressures, critical and hazardous applications. To tailor heat exchanger efficiency and performance to each project, we produce three types of tube finning: extruded fins for applications up to 300°C, embedded or grooved fins for operating temperatures up to 400°C, and standard L-footed fins for low temperature applications (typically up to 170°C) where some degree of tube wall protection is required.
We provide solutions suitable for extreme environments – desert, offshore and fully winterized units for very cold climates.
