Pumping Unit Operation & Maintenance Training School
GE offers a robust training program that provides oil production employees involved in the operation, maintenance and repair of pumping units with hands-on and technical training in the operation and maintenance of the company's Lufking Pumping units.
The training program covers:
- Design and manufacture of Lufkin pumping units
- Safety around a pumping unit
- Setting of a pumping unit
- Operating the pumping unit
- Counterbalance adjustment
- Lubricating the unit
- Pumping unit stroke change
- Sructural bearing assembly
- Preventative maintenance
- Trouble-shooting techniques
- Technical calculations for equipment selection are not a regular part of training but available, upon request

Training takes place at the Training Center located in Lufkin, Texas, U.S.A.
Tuition is $1,100.00 USD per person and includes local transportation, training materials, noon meals, and certificate of completion.

Register early. Maximum enrollment is 18 students. Enrollment is on a first-come basis.
Courtyard Marriott-Lufkin offers a special participant room rate of $95 plus tax and is designated at the preferred hotel for the Pumping Unit Operation & Maintenance Training School. For reservations, please call the hotel directly at 936.632.0777. Your reservation must be made at least seven (7) days prior to your planned arrival date and guaranteed with a method of payment directly to Courtyard Marriott. Be sure to mention that you will be attending the Pumping Unit Operation & Maintenance School to receive this special rate. Any cancellation must be made by 4:00 pm CST date of arrival.
We will provide van transportation from the Courtyard Marriott to the Training Center each school day. At the conclusion of each day, students will be returned to the Courtyard Marriott. The preferred hotel is highly recommended during your training stay as it provides the best opportunity to interface with other students and the convenience of the van access. This location is utilized as a pick-up and drop-off location each day. Any student using other lodging will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the preferred hotel each morning and evening.

Cancellations received less than two weeks before the school begins are subject to a $150 service charge. Confirmed registrants who fail to attend are subject to the entire fee.
