Product/System OverviewA Tension Leg Platform (TLP) is a vertically moored floating structure suited for use in a broad water depth range. TLP’s have been successfully deployed in water depths approaching 5,000 feet. The platform is permanently moored by means of tethers or tendons grouped at each of the structure's corners. A group of tendons is called a tension leg. Due to the low vertical motion, the production wellheads are located on the production deck (connected directly to the subsea wells by rigid risers), instead of on the seafloor.
