Pump UpratesThe GE Oil & Gas Global Services team can enhance the performance level of installed centrifugal pumps with its portfolio of advanced CM&Us. The following are some of the many uprates available: Hydraulic performance modification can be evaluated as a lower cost alternative to installing a new pump when new operating conditions are no longer within the operating range of the existing pump. Uprating the mechanical sealing system can increase the mean time between maintenance and achieve compliance with environmental regulations. This may require modification of some pump components such as re-designing the shaft sleeve, stuffing box and throat bushing, and providing a new flushing system to meet API 682 standards. Replacing traditional metal wear components with reinforced polymer composite materials allows drastic reduction of clearances between rotating and stationary wear parts, which can deliver numerous performance advantages including reduction in overall vibration levels and improved efficiency over a broad range of operating conditions.
