Mapping & Caliper Survey Tools

Map & Inspect Your Pipeline at the Same Time

An internal mapping survey is a cost-effective method for determining locations of each pipe joint, making subsequent excavation of defects easier and cheaper. It can be a cost-effective means of producing pipeline drawings when none are available from earlier construction. Our mapping tools can run through remote, inaccessible areas where conventional above-ground mapping surveys are impractical. Mapping can also identify areas of pipeline movement from land slips in mountainous areas, ship anchors in offshore waters, fast water currents in flood zones and earthquakes and tremors in seismically active areas.

Mapping & Caliper Survey Tools

MagneScan™ IMU

The mapping tool is a MagneScan™ tool with the unique ability to map its geographical location during a metal loss inspection. Data from an inertial monitoring unit is combined with an MFL analysis to provide the GIS coordinates of identified corrosion in your pipeline. It can also identify pipeline displacement, which can compromise the integrity of your pipeline. The mapping tool is ideal when operating in remote areas, saving you time and money by reducing the amount of post-processing and mapping required, facilitating quick decision-making. Mapping tools are now available in sizes from 6 to 56 inches.

Caliper

Our new generation Multi-Channel Caliper inspection tools range in size from 4" to 42". The provide accurate high-resolution information of physical pipeline defects, are ideal to determine the instances of third party damage, and can act as a proving tool for other inspection equipment. We can also provide IMU with Caliper. The Caliper tools meets with regulatory requirements in USA and Europe, run in a variety of products, and provide services for nearly all pipeline systems; gathering, transmission, distribution & refineries."
