Equipment Upgrade Solutions

Customized engineered solutions to increase the output, performance and life of your plant.

GE's Oil & Gas team has developed over 300 Conversion, Modification and Uprate products for gas and steam turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, and pumps in order to offer tailored solutions that address customers' needs across Oil & Gas applications. We also have a broad portfolio of environmental and safety solutions to reduce emissions and improve safety, thereby enhancing the performance and profitability of customers' facilities.

The resulting benefits are increased performance and improved economics achieved through:
  • Gain in output and efficiency
  • Improved reliability
  • Extended life
  • Increased intervals between inspections
  • Reduced maintenance costs
  • Compliance with regulations

Operating conditions and performance requirements can change significantly over the working life of a plant. We have implemented a large number of de-bottlenecking projects aimed at enhancing compression stations (drivers and driven equipment) and the related Balance of Plant.

Gas Re-injection and Gas Lift

When field operating conditions change, production levels can often be maintained or even increased through a centrifugal compressor uprate and, if necessary, an increase in gas turbine power and efficiency.

GE solutions can increase the turbomachinery efficiency up to 5 or 6%, power output up to 15%, and gas flow up to 80%.

LNG

GE's innovative technology and new patented maintenance methodology applied to existing LNG trains can deliver improvements equivalent to an extra year of production over a 20 year cycle, according to our customers' calculations.

Pipeline

Tailored solutions for pipeline applications can maximize efficiency and increase compression station flow. GE customers optimize their network systems by taking advantage of our integrated solutions based on remote monitoring & diagnostic tools, pipeline inspection, and Contractual Service Agreements designed to guarantee the availability and reliability of the entire network. Operating cost savings of up to 10% can be achieved.

Processing

De-bottlenecking projects in refinery or petrochemical plants are normally driven by a need for increased production. GE Oil & Gas engineers, working together with customers, have developed customized solutions such as replacing compressor internal parts and increasing efficiency by modifying thermodynamic stages and sealing systems while limiting the impact on the plant layout, and reusing existing capital equipment.

GE customers leverage our Global Services portfolio of advanced and innovative CM&Us for compressors and turbines to maintain their competitive performance levels with their installed base of equipment.
