Gas Treatment Systems

Backed by 30 Years of Experience

GE has designed and produced pressure reducing and metering systems for more than 30 years. A typical gas treatment system is used in a gas network when the pipeline is branched to feed a power plant, industrial plant or city. Common applications for our equipment are fuel gas feeding and city gates. The main subsystems are filters, heaters, pressure reduction systems, metering systems and odorizing systems.

Performance

A multi-cyclone or vane type filter is typically used as a first stage filter and includes the following equipment:

  • Automatic drain system
  • Level switches for remote alarms
  • Level and pressure gauges for the local indication
  • Pressure safety valves
  • Manual vent
  • Nitrogen purging injection point

A second stage filtering system is typically a cartridge-type or coalescing gas filter provided for separating solid particles like rust or sand, and liquid suspensions like natural gas condensate, water and methanol. Second stage filters include the same standard accessories as first stage filters and are equipped with a quick-opening closure for easy maintenance.
