API 617 Centrifugal Compressor - Integrally Geared

This type of compressor features a bull gear and from one to four high speed pinions. One or two impellers can be mounted on each pinion shaft. Optimal impeller speed and the ability to inter-cool compression phases guarantee very high efficiency.

Design Philosophy

Due to the rugged mechanical design, integrally geared compressors offer very high reliability and ease of maintenance.

Applications

Integrally geared compressors are used in petrochemical applications characterized by low flow and high pressure, or high flow and low pressure.

Designed for process air and gas service, this compressor line can handle a large variety of gases with appropriate construction materials and seal systems.

Testing Capabilities

The units can be string or full-load tested in our shop, with both ASME PTC 10 type I or type II criteria, thus concentrating the responsibility for the complete train in the hands of a single source supplier.

Internal test rigs with electric motor drivers and steam turbines are available for standard shop tests and open loop air performance tests.

External test rigs with special facilities for string and full load tests of complete turbocompression trains ensure full compliance with customer-specific requirements.

Our Virtual Witness System allows customers to monitor tests remotely and securely via the Internet.

In addition to open-loop air and closed-loop gas options, and full-load, full-pressure mechanical testing, we offer a new high speed balancing system.
